Experience:A dedicated and articulate teacher specialising in secondary education. Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, honed through classroom experience and an early career history in Sales and Account Management. Able to make sound decisions, present complex information, and drive student attainment. Confidently delivering a range of syllabuses and specifications, utilising new technologies and developing resources to create interactive, engaging educational experiences. My teaching experience encompasses teaching three A Level subjects (Psychology/Sociology/Criminology) at KS5 while also starting and rolling out a BTEC in applied Psychology. I can evidence raising attainment in a challenging classroom environment and ensuring schemes of learning are continually improved. I hold a PGCE and I have QTS.
Approach:Firstly Assess the Student’s Needs
Identify Goals: What does the student want to achieve? This could be improving grades, mastering a specific topic, or preparing for a test.
Evaluate Strengths and Weaknesses: Review the student's current knowledge and skills. Which areas need more focus, and which are already strong?
Ask for Input: Involve the student in setting goals so that they are motivated and have a clear understanding of their objectives.
Create a Session-by-Session Outline
Session 1: Introduce the topic and assess current knowledge. Set baseline goals.
Session 2: Teach the first key concept and provide exercises.
Session 3: Review concepts learned and introduce a more advanced concept.
Session 4: Focus on practice, answering any questions, and assessing progress.
Keep this structure flexible, and adapt it based on the student’s pace.
