Approach:

Skills and Abilities:I have been the teaching assistant of Mr. Wolfram Koessel (cellist of the American String Quartet) for the past two years at the Manhattan School of Music's Pre College Division, successfully coaching his students for juries, competitions, and recitals. In addition to the points mentioned above, I want to share my early background. From a very young age, I witnessed music lessons, even before attending my first music school. My mother is a piano teacher, having graduated from the Moscow Conservatoire and emigrated to France in 1991, where she started teaching in her students' homes. I accompanied her almost daily, listening attentively during lessons. Between sessions, she would often engage me in discussions about music history, solfege, and practice techniques. My passion for music led me to learn the cello, requiring a tremendous amount of discipline and self-belief.Teaching cello is my passion, and I continuously seek ways to develop this skill further. For example, at the Royal Academy of Music in London, I participated in an elective called "Open Academy," where I worked with a class of autistic children to create a performance at the end of each session. At the Manhattan School of Music, alongside my teaching activities, I also worked in a class named "Cello Pedagogy" with the illustrious professor and cellist Miss Marion Feldman. My goal as a teacher is to always listen and help my students achieve their goals. I am diligent and adaptable, adjusting my teaching approach to each individual while aiming for them to enjoy and grow as musicians and good moral human beings. I can teach classical music pieces from any period, as well as pop songs if desired. I can also teach solfege, the Kodaly method, and Suzuki if needed. If you are interested in cello ensembles, I would be delighted to teach that too. In addition to my private teaching and assistantship, I have taught at three different music schools: Soyulla Artists, the historical Hoff-Barthelson Music School, and Tutti Music & Art. Within a span of two months, my class at Tutti Music & Art reached full capacity. I have successfully prepared many students for NYSMA and for the ABRSM 8th grade examination.
