Experience:I worked at Roeland, a Belgian company that offers language camps for children and adults. I worked there as a French and Dutch language instructor for three years. I taught children between the ages of 8 and 15 with varying levels of French proficiency. My focus was on teaching grammar, as well as the basics of the languages.
My responsibilities included planning, organizing, and preparing engaging and interactive language lessons in both Dutch and French. I am from Belgium and am a native speaker of both French and Dutch.
Approach:I created forms and developed interactive activities, such as games, to make the learning experience more enjoyable and memorable. During some of the classes, I only spoke in the language the students were learning. For example, when I give French lessons, I only speak French throughout the entire class with my students so that they can have a full immersion experience with the language.
