Experience:Hello! My name is Carl and I've been a Secondary English Teacher for 10 years teaching students aged 11-18. I teach across all key stages (3, 4, and 5) and am very results-focused. I have a Master's Degree in English as well as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Secondary English.
I am a passionate practitioner and will evaluate all aspects of students' learning to determine the best way for them to flourish. My goal is for all of my students to achieve the best results possible, just like I did throughout my education.
Approach:I am a very personable tutor and adopt the approach that my students and I "work together." I will assess what the student already knows and what they need to progress, and work systematically to ensure each session achieves a good degree of progress. I will then use this session as a springboard for the next one, working to build student knowledge and schema. Each session will start with a knowledge check to inform the workings of that tutoring session and ensure all gaps in knowledge are addressed. I expect my students to complete tasks set to ensure they get the very best out of each session.
