I have been playing the cello for 24 years. I completed my studies at El Sistema de Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela and graduated from the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music in 2015. In Venezuela, I played with the Caracas Youth Symphony Orchestra and later with the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra until I emigrated to Peru in 2017.
In Peru, I focused on giving private cello lessons to children from the age of 6 and adults interested in learning this beautiful instrument. I worked at Sinfonía por el Perú as a cello teacher and at the British school Markham College in the city of Lima.
I completed the Early Music Education courses 1 and 2 of the Suzuki method, allowing me to work with children from the age of 4, teaching them the basics of music, keyboard, and piano.
For cello lessons, I use different methods that aid in learning the instrument and reading music. The methods are chosen based on the student’s needs and progress. Among the methods I use are Suzuki, Vamoos, Sassmannshaus, etc.
During the early music classes, I apply teaching methods from Suzuki, Dalcroze, and Kodály. It is important for the child to have some percussion and melodic instruments to gradually recognize the sound of notes and their pitches.
Overall, the goal for all classes is to encourage the student to explore their artistic abilities, which will help improve their focus, enjoyment, and sensitivity.
