Qualification:B.A Arabic and education ( American University of Beirut)
Experience:I was a certified Arabic teacher in Lebanon for 10 years. I taught native Arabic for elementary and middle school students from 1984 to 1992.
I taught at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi from 1998 to 2023, teaching native and non-native students at different levels: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced.
In the afternoons, I tutored native and non-native students of all levels and different curriculums.
I also hold an ADEC certification.
Approach:- Teaching Arabic as a second language to non-native speakers at the novice, intermediate, and advanced levels.
- Worked on and taught the best practices to implement the Arabic language using communicative skills to help students in their real lives.
- Taught the implementation of the 5 standards: communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, and communities as prescribed by ACTFL.
- Taught the Hiwarat curriculum focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Taught different themes based on everyday life, focusing on speaking Arabic through dialects and conversations that meet speakers' expectations and needs.
