Qualification:Student with Grade 9s in English Lit & Lang & achieved all A*s at GCSE
Experience:I am currently a student in Year 13 in Dubai. I achieved all A*s in my GCSEs (Grade 8-9) including Grade 9 in English language, Grade 9 in English Literature, Grade 9-9 in Combined Science and a Grade 8 in Mathematics. I am currently predicted an A*A*A at A Level in psychology, English literature and drama. I am an experienced tutor used to working with kids aged 10-14 as over the past 2 years I've tutored students in science as part of a peer mentoring programme within my school. Last year I won the Sheika Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Excellence for my outstanding academics, amongst other qualifications. And I am currently Head Girl at my school.
Approach:My approach focuses on strengthening students' knowledge and confidence in areas where they are struggling. I like to first start with an initial meeting with the student and parents present, so the parents can understand where their child is struggling, and be able to measure progress. Usually in the meetings we discuss their school curriculum, what they may be struggling with and a realistic end goal for each term.
Then, in sessions we start working on the areas identified, so the student gains confidence in the areas they find difficult and understands them. I focus on creating friendly tutoring sessions, where learning is effective but also enjoyable, and where my students are comfortable asking questions.
