Approach:I specialize in tutoring IB and SAT. I believe my success in these areas comes from having recent, first-hand experience with these exams—and performing well in them! I'm not just someone who knows the content; I understand the overall themes and challenges these exams present.
My tutoring approach is highly personalized and delves into the specifics of each exam. For example, with the SAT, having personally completed thousands of SAT questions, I know the ins and outs that I can share with students. The SAT, in particular, is an exam with regular patterns, and I help students navigate these effectively.
In terms of structure, I start my tutoring journey with a student by administering a small quiz on the subject material. Each question is designed to identify "holes" in the student's knowledge. In subsequent sessions, we focus on these areas. Each student is unique, so it's hard to detail every single technique I use. However, my general teaching method involves actively solving questions while learning the material—these questions are usually prepared before the session begins.
