Experience:I started tutoring during high school, mainly with English and Biology. I also have helped younger students (primary and secondary) with reading, writing, and speaking English and have achieved very high grades in English. I have won two essay competitions with Oxford and Cambridge and I am also a medical student. I achieved a top 5% UCAT score and my personal statement for Medicine helped me to receive 4 out of 4 offers from top 10 universities in the UK. I have helped others to achieve similar UCAT scores and have given extensive personal statement feedback to others.
Approach:I believe communication is key - everyone has their own preferred way of learning. Some of my students prefer visual learning, such as with Biology, but prefer note-taking with English. I am a firm believer in active recall and will create mini assessments and constantly test in a relaxed environment to assess how much knowledge they are retaining and to figure out their strengths and weaknesses.
