I challenge my students to share opinions with and mentor one another. I encourage brainstorming sessions, group projects, and group presentations. It is my hope that students leave my classroom knowing that learning information in class is just as important as learning to collaborate and voice their questions and concerns. As a teacher, I strive to engage, challenge, and inspire growth in my students. It is my belief that every student is capable of experiencing the passion that I feel for engineering by becoming collaborators in the exploration of engineering theory, research, and practice.
Beyond knowing the science and the math, it is important to sow a seed of curiosity in my students, teach them individually how to become independent and critical thinkers, how to be proud of their successes, and ultimately be their number one supporter.
