Experience:I am currently working as a Literacy Coach (Leading teacher) at a Primary School. In this role, I coach and mentor teachers in explicit synthetic phonics, the writing revolution, and oral language which includes Colourful Semantics, Story Grammar, Vocabulary, and Cued Articulation. My recent experience includes implementing a structured synthetic phonics program (Sounds-Write) and phonemic awareness - Heggerty in the classroom with whole group, small group, and 1:1 instruction. I also have experience teaching writing through an explicit program called "Talk for Writing" and the Process of Writing.
Approach:I am committed and passionate about improving student learning outcomes to ensure every child is confident in reading, writing, and spelling. I create a welcoming, positive, and safe learning environment during tutoring sessions, as well as supporting your child through the session to ensure they achieve their goals and flourish as a learner.
As an experienced Sounds~Write practitioner and literacy coach, I value how much the Sounds~Write approach can help your child become proficient readers, writers, and spellers. My vision is to teach children to love learning, which not only increases their confidence but also helps them excel in all areas of the curriculum.
