Experience:I have taught students for their O/A levels and have experience with younger students as well. I started tutoring a couple of kids when they were in 5th grade and stopped tutoring them when they finished their O-levels.
Apart from that, I have taught students PowerBI, and many others English while I was living in Europe.
Approach:Tutoring approach mainly depends on each specific individual. This approach is determined after a trial session with the student since everyone learns things differently.
I tend to break things down into parts and first develop concepts before moving on to practicing questions and testing the students. Diving into the basics and understanding the student’s needs is important for them to truly comprehend the subject. For math, I would conduct a general assessment of the student, identify where they are struggling, and determine how deeply I need to review concepts with them. When teaching PowerBI, it would be a crash course from loading a dataset to end-to-end modeling and visualization.
When it comes to English, the approach also needs to be tailored to the student and their existing knowledge.
It all depends on the subject and the student.
