I have been teaching for 16 years and hold a BA degree in History, a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching, a Masters Degree in Education, and an NPQML (Leadership). With my extensive knowledge of exam success criteria, I have served as a GCSE examiner for ten years and an A Level examiner in History AND Politics for five years. I have been teaching eight years in Dubai and eight years in the UK.

Approach:

Lessons start with Retrieval Practice, aiming to establish students' level of knowledge. Once gaps in knowledge are identified, I leverage my extensive knowledge of the syllabus to fill in those gaps. At the end of each lesson, I conduct quizzes to test the students' knowledge and understanding. My approach is highly exam-focused, making use of my in-depth knowledge of exam specifications. I model "top" answers to guide students, provide scaffolding for them to attempt questions themselves, and meticulously mark and offer feedback on their practice answers.
