PGCE in Secondary Mathematics and BSC in Geography

Experience:

I have been tutoring mathematics since I was in university myself, 10 years ago. I underwent training throughout university for this and went on to qualify as a Teacher of Mathematics in the UK afterwards. I have worked mainly with EAL students and specialise in scaffolding learning through visuals and incorporating a language focus to ensure the development of understanding.

Approach:

My tutoring lessons are planned following a baseline assessment of my students. This helps me understand their needs and requirements and allows us to set out a plan for the sessions delivered. I will be able to set work to complete in time for the following session to ensure that maximum progress is made. I am very personable and will make sure that the sessions are well planned, enjoyable and incorporate activities to help improve recall and retention.
