Experience:

I've been teaching Chinese for 7 years. I used to work in Thailand, South Africa, the United States, and Italy. Among all my teaching experience for students of different ages from kids to pensioners, immersion language is my favorite way to teach, as it is the most effective method for learning a language. I also used to teach math in primary school.

Approach:

My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think by themselves, using real-world examples and authentic language materials wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually.  I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. In my lessons students can relax and be themselves, we will learn together how to overcome their learning issues.
