Experience:

I have taught English for more than 25 years. I specialise in High School English, English as a Second Language and preparing candidates for the IELTS and TOEFL examinations. My strengths are that I am patient, tailor lessons for students' specific needs and put in my fullest effort with my students. I work hard to gain my students' confidence and once mutual understanding, respect and confidence are attained, progress can be stunning. I prefer a friendly but disciplined style of teaching which encourages trust and self-reliance.

Approach:

Once I have ascertained a student's strengths and weaknesses, I plan lessons around these, tailoring the material to be taught to bolster the weak areas and further improve the student's strong areas. My lessons are unique in that I rely on the student to choose the areas of English that need working on and through feedback decide mutually where the learning should go next.
