Post graduate Certificate in Education with Qualifying Teaching status. BA in English and New Media

Experience:

I am a dedicated and passionate teacher, originally from Ireland. I have taught in the UAE for 5 years, during that time I have taught across a number of grade levels from KG1 - Year 4. I am currently teaching in an IB school which uses the British National Curriculum. Prior to moving to the Dubai, I have experience working with secondary level students in areas of English and History helping them to prepare for state exams. I adore being a teacher and I always try to bring fun to my lessons.

Approach:

I plan all lessons based on student's needs. I differentiate to ensure activities are engaging, yet challenging and cater to students interests. I have a passion for developing students literacy skills. I previously worked with a group of 13 grade 2 students who were behind in reading and writing. For younger age groups, particularly KG I like to use a puppet to help with reading, writing and spelling.
