Hi there!

My name is Hannah Murphy. I taught kindergarten and second grade for three years and tutored ESL for six years. In my last year of teaching, my 2nd grade class out-performed the entire primary in their reading level growth with most of my students growing 3 to 5 grade levels in reading in one academic year! Reading is the foundation to learning in all subject areas and deserves extra attention, particularly in the early years. Learning should be very systematic and deliberate, as well as holistically engaging of the whole child in a fun, interactive, and interesting way.

1. Masters in Education from East Texas Baptist University
2. Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies in Early Education through 6th Grade
3. Texas Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education (pre-k - 6th grade)
4. Special Education Certifcation (pre-k - 6th grade)
5. CELTA certificate for teaching English as a second language
6. UAE Teacher Certification for ECD (KG1 - Grade 2)

Approach:

I offer half-hour class slots at 150 AED per half hour. I offer the classes either online or at my home in Sharjah. Please reach out to me via my cell number to book a demo class or your first class. 

My instruction will depend on your child's needs. During our first session, I will assess your child's reading level and then plan activities and lessons that address his or her areas of weakness and support his or her school's learning objectives. I will use a mixture of my own resources as well as your child's assignments, textbooks, and readers to optimize supporting your child's reading needs.
