Experience:

I am an experienced teacher, with lots of leadership experience too. I am a primary specialist but have experience in tutoring up to GCSE level and into Adult Education. I have taught for 17 years and I have worked with exam boards, in expert review groups to test SATs papers, and have extensive marking experience. My undergraduate degree is in Mathematics with Primary Education, and when I did my Masters in Education I chose an English focus, so those are my specialisms.

Approach:

When I tutor, I need to know what the child or children I am working with are capable of first. So the first session or two is about getting to know them, what they can do and then I can start to plan next steps in learning. Every session is a mix of chatting through learning content, doing examples together and then some time to do some work independently. I'm happy to set additional task for outside of sessions, and provide marking and feedback.
