Experience:

I am a qualified primary school teacher and have been teaching for the last 5 years. I have both taught whole class and tutored children in literacy and numeracy since qualifying with a Bachelor of Education International. I have taught English as an Additional Language to children, I have completed TEFL training and have taught English in Ireland and in France.

Approach:

I like to get to know my students and use their hobbies and interests to ensure that they are happy to learn and are excited for our next lessons. Children love feeling like the teacher, so taking a child as teacher approach can be fun. Hands-on activities, project work, research work and using online resources are great ways of keeping children engaged and actively learning. Using children's experiences and allowing them to connect to a topic is important for them to gain full understanding.
