Experience:

I have been teaching elementary for 6 years. Asking thought provoking questions, allowing children to build their own understanding, guiding when needed are all styles of my teaching. . I am trained as an ESOL teacher, IB/PYP. I have experience with multiple educational platforms. Building relationships with the student and parent, holding them accountable, nurturing, positive feedback, and constant encouragement are all strengths.

Approach:

I start off with a goal setting activity. This allows the student to become invested in this tutoring experience and allows us to measure the progress at the end of the tutoring journey. While it is educational, making all activities fun and relatable is very important. Building relationships with the child and parent motivates the child to work harder for and with me. It also makes the parent feel supported and encouraged.
