Experience:

I was a Primary School Teacher in Thailand for a year. The role consisted of teaching a class of 8-year-olds in the subjects of English, Maths, Science and Health. I also taught Kindergarten lessons. The style of teaching I strive to achieve is usually a fun, easy-going, interactive style that focuses a lot on repetition (drills) and oral speaking. I like to make the student feel like they are in a comfortable environment where they can try their best with the subject at hand.

Approach:

When lesson planning, I like to have a clear goal in mind for each lesson. My lesson plans usually start with a warmer and sometimes I like to go over things I have taught in previous lessons to ensure they have retained such knowledge. After this, I allow the student to practice (At this point I strive for fluency in speaking as opposed to complete accuracy). Finally, I allow the student to present the new language whilst I ask concept checking questions.
