Experience:

In my current role as a teaching assistant in a reputable British curriculum school, my daily duty is to spend time with children on a one to one basis, focusing on improving their areas of need which typically includes phonics, maths, and reading. I believe this has provided me with highly transferrable skills as a tutor, whilst allowing me to develop a strong set of resources for improving each of these areas. I am also experienced with the IB diploma, and I'm currently completing my PGCEi.

Approach:

My lesson plans are focused on the student's specific needs. I have found repetition to be very important in more primary based learning, thus this would be integral to each of those lesson plans. In regard to secondary tutoring, especially related to IB, the mass of content to get through is perhaps what's most overwhelming for students. My lessons would be focused on making the content more digestible and creating useful revision tools that the student can refer back to throughout.
