Secondary School Teacher in English literature and English as a Second Language

Experience:

I studied in Dublin City University and have a degree in English Literature and Education. I have been teaching the last 5 years in the UAE and in Ireland. I've taught in two Very Good schools in Dubai, one IB Curriculum and American Curriculum. I teach from grade 6 -12 in English Literature and EAL. I have been tutoring students for their AP, SATs, GCSE, A Levels and DP exams. I also teach English as a second language for the last 7 years.

Approach:

My tutoring approach is for students to look forward to their tutor time and to not have the weekly hour something they HAVE to do. I would like the student to feel a sense of relief when they meet me as I like to create a friendly learning environment where they can ask the questions where they might not have felt comfortable to ask in a classroom full of students. I plan my lessons in a way where the students can learn in a FUN way and feel the sense of achievement.
