Experience:

Overall, I have five years of teaching experience. In the UK, I worked as a Year 2/3 teacher for a year. Then, I worked as a Year 4 class teacher at a British International school in Sharjah for two years, where I was the KS2 subject lead for maths. After completing my two years in Sharjah, I moved to a British International School in Dubai. Since being here, I have been promoted to Head of Science for Primary, Head of Year 4, and worked in Years 3, 4, and 5. I have extensive knowledge of the primary curriculum, meaning I have the ability to teach from Grade 1 to Grade 6 in all subject areas. Being a British expat and completing all my studies in the UK, I have an outstanding understanding of the English language. During my time teaching, I have expanded the teaching strategies I use and implement to adapt to the needs of the learner. I am a strong advocate for teaching methods that support children's working memory. Recently, I achieved my National Qualification in Leading Teaching and Learning. I currently live in Jumeirah Golf Estates, and I drive.

Approach:

I am a bubbly, energetic individual who is extremely passionate about learning, and most importantly engaging children in learning. Which is one of the many reasons I decided to become a primary school teacher. I have a highly engaging personality that enables me to immediately gauge student interest in whatever subject and really connect with the child on an interpersonal level. I also pride myself on being an excellent listener and observer, which is a vital tool to understand a student’s learning process.
