Experience:

I am an educator with eleven years of experience. In my current position, I function as the Head of Department. My experience includes teaching in grades 7-12, Pre-AP and AP English courses to students in their high school years and most recently Theory of Knowledge and IB DP Language & Literature. I was trained at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education.

Approach:

I describe my tutoring style as empowering learners to meet their goals through solution-based and proactive learning activities. I have come to the understanding that feedback is the most important aspect of the learning process. If students are not given the tools that are needed to reach their goals, we have failed as a team. The learning experience should be diverse and the curriculum should focus on teaching students to think critically and develop an academic curiosity.
