BA in psychology from Mcgill University + Professional Teaching Diploma

Experience:

I have tutored kids and adults for more than 7 years (Reading, writing, comprehension, math, science, music theory, piano and guitar). My style is very flexible and depends on the student. I currently work as a special educator for kids with learning difficulties. This requires a lot of patience and kindness which I think are two of my main qualities as a teacher. I believe that my strength also lies in my ability to get along quite easily with students of various ages.

Approach:

I am very organized. My lessons will all be planned ahead of time. What makes my style quite different, is the fun aspects that I integrate in the sessions. I can make the student believe he/she is playing a game rather than learning. This is very useful especially with kids with learning difficulties. I am not traditional in my teaching and I focus a lot on positive reinforcement. I use behavioral modification techniques that are very useful in teaching discipline and respect.
