Bachelor of Music from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Experience:

At Emory University where I matriculated, I led the Concert Choir and conducted for our biweekly rehearsals for three years. I ensure that my teaching style encourages vocal exploration as much as possible, and cultivates listening skills. While my primary domain of expertise is in the operatic vocal tradition, I greatly enjoy contemporary music too! I would be fully amenable to instruction in the genres of pop, jazz, RnB, in addition to classical training.

Approach:

My lessons will be centered on these core vocal tenets: notes, scales, breath control, ear training, tuning, pitch, audience engagement, and acting. Upon gauging the student's musical aptitude+interests, I will accordingly adjust the structure of the class. My goal is to assist my students find their own style, and develop their own voices. I would love to teach them the basics of piano accompaniment- I believe that cultivating a instrumental support system for your voice is a great asset.
