Master of Medical Science Clinical Communication Sciences (speech therapy)

Experience:

I have 4 years of experience providing direct speech and language intervention to children ranging from primary to secondary age. I focus on building early and intermediate language skills, social communication and in assisting children whose phonological awareness is not adequate for literacy instruction (phonics, reading, writing) amongst a range of other skills that underpin academic success. As a native English speaker I am experienced in building vocabulary in English also.

My teaching style is fun and relaxed. I focus on motivating the child through fun and engaging activities, ensuring that they feel comfortable to create the best possible learning environment. My experience as a qualified healthcare professional means that I have a specialised knowledge about the early skills needed for successful literacy acquisition. I aim to empower your child to take risks and build their confidence in their work.
