Experience:

I have recently moved to Dubai and already tutored students in both Primary and Secondary Key Stage levels since December. Previously, whilst working in the UK I tutored various students over the past 5 years in preparation for their GCSE examinations in Literature and Language. I also specialise in A-Level English Language and have taught this specification for three years. I share the mark scheme criteria with the students regularly so they have a clear expectation for the exam environment.

Approach:

I have a pragmatic approach that focuses on what the examiners require and cater for that. I like to use innovative and exciting texts that link to the students interests for language analysis, I then focus on segmenting and scaffolding model answers to allow them to gain exam confidence and organisational skills. For Literature, I use a similar approach by breaking the text down into manageable chunks and link the extracts covered to past papers.
