Qualification:

Bachelors, Practical Solutions For Dyslexia Plus, Level 3, CACHE level 3; 5 years of TA experience and 1.5 years of LSA experience in competitive British Schools.

Experience:

6 years. Currently working as an LSA at a leading British curriculum school , with children in grades 4 through 6, helping them with English and Maths. Trained in dyslexia and holding CACHE level 3. Four years of teaching assistant experience with grade 2 at Repton School. Sound understanding of core subjects at KS1 and KS2. Prefer a hands-on approach to teaching, drawing on real life experiences.

Approach:

Through my years of working with children, I have found that struggling learners are very hard on themselves and often times they shun support, instead of accepting it. So, for children to be receptive, it is important to provide a non-judgemental learning experience. I like to keep a sense of humor, play to student's strengths and be gentle with their weaknesses, and plan lessons around things that pique their interest.
