Experience:

As a native speaker with postgraduate qualifications, I have a high standard of written and spoken English. While I lack teaching experience, I would favour a Direct Method, conversing exclusively in English to enhance the pronunciation skills fo the student.

Approach:

As per above, I would favour the Direct Method, conversing exclusively in English and allowing the student to gain confidence in the language by focusing on pronunciation and smooth communication. Grammar rules would be discussed as a secondary aspect. In order to build a relationship with my students, I focus on areas of interest, such as sport, history, music or art and have the student discuss a topic that they have knowledge of so that conversation in English can flow freely.
