Experience:

UK trained Chemist, BSc, Newcastle, PhD, Newcastle, PGCE, Keele. I have taught Science to GCSE and Chemistry to A level in UK schools and colleges. I have also taught private tutorials at the same time. I have taught chemistry as a foreign language for 20 years at University level, specializing in foundation and entry level students and have a demonstrated ability to explain complex subjects with a high level of success. My teaching experience helps students to bridge the gap between High School and University making my skill set unique. i have also served as a Judge at many National and International Science Fairs.

Approach:

I use illustrated discussions as well as setting assignments. My aim is to help transition the student into an independent learner, able to thrive without further assistance. I work on facts , theories but also more importantly how to study. I use personality directed learning strategies to assist the student to become an independent learner. I teach the material but more importantly assist the student to develop more successful learning strategies.
