Qualification:

I have a degree in Early Childhood Education from the United States of America. I have taught for 7 years as a grade 1 teacher, teaching students who are English Language learners.

Experience:

During my time in the UAE I have worked with children from age 2 to 12.  I have prepared hands on creative lessons for students.  I have also helped students with their homework and focused on concepts that they are working on at school to help them be more successful. I have also done a few small group lessons.  While teaching in China I spent around 7 hours a week tutoring kindergarten and primary school students. I would tutor in small groups, or one on one. During my sessions we would look at what they were learning at school and focus on the topics they struggled with. We would also spend time on phonics and reading.

Approach:

When I first meet a student I like to get to know them and their interests in order to make my classes fun and engaging for the future. The first session I get to know the level the students are at in order to be successful in the future. During my tutoring lessons I like to make them engaging using hands on activities to practice the skills that they need to work on. I also promote a love for reading, but having the children read books of their choosing and on topics that interest them.
