Experience:

l have over 15 years of teaching experience as a classroom teacher, special needs teacher and head of the special needs department. I'm passionate about helping struggling students learn and reach their full potential. l have experience in dealing with many learning difficulties, but in the last few years, I've specialised in the field of reading disorders, helping struggling readers read. I have a patient and calm personality and gain personal fulfilment out of seeing my students improve.

Approach:

l am using a teaching program in my lessons which is specifically designed to help struggling readers. The program takes on a multi-sensory approach to teaching reading and is highly structured. It is based on an understanding of how children naturally develop language and take a step-by-step approach, where students master one skill before moving to the next. The program is intensive, but it has proven itself for many years already, helping struggling readers all over the world. Before starting the lessons, l will first assess your child, to determine his or her reading skills and areas of strength and weakness. Based on the outcome of this assessment, l will then design an individual plan, with lessons adapted to the needs of your child. I am flexible to suit your schedule.
