Experience:

I have been a Primary School teacher for 5+ years in the UK and have recently moved to Dubai. My previous role was as a Head of Year 5 in the UK. I have experience in Primary year groups 1, 2, 4, and 5 but have a good understanding of the entire Primary curriculum. I have a strong subject and pedagogical knowledge in the core areas of English and Mathematics.

Approach:

MY tutoring approach focuses in on using the time to provide invaluable 1:1 verbal feedback in a way that will enable the child to feel confident and at ease - their best learning state. Learning activities will range from games to more formal learning activities to ensure the learner is able to apply their understanding outside of the sessions. In mathematics, I am able to quickly identify areas of weakness for the learner and use manipulative, practical materials and visual representations to plug gaps in learning and aid progress. My understanding of the English curriculum and grammatical knowledge means that I can offer age-appropriate lessons and opportunities to identify or apply within meaningful contexts.
