Experience:

I have been teaching English for 18 years and have taught all levels from beginners to proficient users of the language. I have a TESOL Certificate from Trinity College London and a BSc in Pharmacy. Most of my teaching has been here in the Gulf region so I have extensive knowledge of Arab learners. However, I have also taught other nationalities from all over the world. I have extensive experience in preparing students to undertake the IELTS exam and GCSE Arabic.

Approach:

I base my methodology on the learner's needs and wants. I believe lessons should be interactive with a variety of tasks implementing all four skills. With IELTS preparation lessons I usually take a task-based approach as exam technique and tips are vital to improving scores in the exam. I also focus on the most common topics for IELTS and encourage students to read and expand vocabulary to better their band. I encourage exam practice which can be done both during the lesson and in the students own time. Exam papers/tasks are marked according to public IELTS band descriptors giving the student a clear idea of his/her capabilities of achieving the desired band.
