Experience:

I have been tutoring privately for 11years, while working as a teacher for Fujairah college and AMIDEAST, with the AQF and American Embassy. I have been living in the UAE for 17 years and speak Arabic and French at an intermediate level. I have a Bachelors in Linguistics from UNE, Australia. However, my schooling was in the UAE at FPA and RAKA. My main strengths include being well-organized, loyal, reliable and honest. As well as being a good communicator and very culturally sensitive.

Approach:

As I have been in the UAE schooling system myself, I believe that this gives me a greater understanding of exactly what the students need in order to reach their full potential. I am also very accustomed to the many different cultures here in the UAE due to growing up submerged in them. I am a very strong believer in assessing a students' learning style before planning lessons for them as each student could be an auditory learner, a visual learner, a kinesthetic learner or even a combined mixture of the three. Regardless of the material being taught, if the teacher is not harnessing the way the student learns, it is as though you are throwing information down the drain. I believe the key to successful learning is to implement specific techniques for each individual student, depending on their learning style, to guarantee a high information retention.
