Masters in Education, Professional Diploma in Education, Bachelors in History and German

Experience:

I have 10 years experience as a teacher: one in Germany, one in Ireland, then 4 in the United Kingdom and 5 in the UAE. I worked for the last three summers as a GCSE History examiner for Edexcel/Pearson. I have taught History, Global Perspectives, and English in both British and American curriculum schools.

Approach:

Tutoring one-to-one or small groups allows me to design a lesson to cater for that student's exact needs. I design a lesson focused around one key area/topic of weakness and then focus on two ro three key activities that will stretch the students abilities. The ideal tutorial will stretch the student's oral, aural, and written abilities in the lesson and will challenge them to use both knowledge and skills to improve their abilities. I have both my experience as a History teacher (as well as my History Degree) and my experience as an EAL teacher (and my TEFL qualification) to call on to inform my lessons.
