Postgraduate Certificate in Education - Art & Design (Liverpool John Moores University), BA(Hons) - Fine Art (The University of Arts London).

Experience:

I have worked as a qualified Primary and Secondary Art & Design teacher and private Art tutor for 8 years, with experience teaching in the UAE, UK, Ireland and Australia across a range of curriculums. I now run my own Art & Design business in Dubai, after teaching in the UAE for 5 years, during which I was Head of Department for Art & Design and responsible for writing the curriculum. I work as a private tutor for children and adults of all ages, and can teach all areas of Art & Design, catering to all interests and levels.

Approach:

I will design and deliver lessons catered to each child's individual needs, ensuring they show excellent progression in both their practical skills and creative thinking with every session. Lessons are planned for either a 1 hour or 2 hour slot. Each lesson is tailored to each child's skill level and individual needs. Lessons will focus on a range of skills including the following: Fundamentals of drawing and sketching - Easy to follow professional drawing techniques that enable your child to be good at drawing anything (objects and still life, portraiture/people, animals, landscape, architecture/urban landscape, human form, anime/comic style illustrations).   Painting Techniques - Easy to follow professional painting techniques (from complete beginners/junior level to intermediate).  - Understand how to blend colours accurately and use the correct techniques, brushes and tools to paint in a range of styles. (Acrylic painting /oil painting /gouache painting /watercolour painting /realistic and abstract painting /painting for expression and creativity). -Painting lessons for self-expression and art therapy: Learning a range of painting techniques for mindfulness and to achieve a calm state of mind.   Collage and Mixed Media ​ -Unleash your child's experimental and creative side by learning how to merge several art forms to create unique artworks and designs. -Merge photography, drawing or painting to create imaginative and experimental artworks. -Learning how to experiment freely and exploring visual language to create personalised designs.
