Experience:

I am an Irish primary school teacher with teaching experience ranging from KG to Grade 5. I have a Bachelor of Education and in Psychology and have recently also completed a Masters in Education and Leadership. I have taught in many different schools and with many different age groups throughout my career to date. I love teaching younger children and am passionate about learning through language, games, rhymes and stories. When a child is laughing and having fun, they are also learning.

Approach:

My tutoring approach always begins by meeting the child. Each individual child has their own interests, strengths and weaknesses. I believe for my tutoring to be valuable, it is of the utmost importance to firstly understand the uniqueness of the child. My lessons are always interesting and challenging. Without a fun stimulus, the lesson can seem like a chore. That is not how I like to approach after-school tutoring. I like to think that the child will look forward to my arrival as it means fun and games! While a child is laughing and fully engaged, the child feels safe and is unafraid to make a mistake. My tutoring techniques involve a wide range of different methodologies, stories, games, direct instruction, written and oral activities, and assessment as appropriate.
