Experience:

I am an Irish teacher, who has lived in the UAE for one year, due to start my second year in September 2018. I have completed the Bachelor of English (and Religious Education) degree at Dublin City University. Since then, I have completed a post-graduate diploma in Autism Studies. I have worked in various schools in Ireland and have a broad understanding of the British curriculum. I am currently working in a private International school in Dubai and am available in the evenings, after 4 pm.

Approach:

I am happy to concentrate on areas with which students are struggling/need support. I can assist with organization, planning, time management and exam strategies so that students can achieve their maximum potential. I am approachable and supportive and believe in creating a positive learning environment so that students can reflect on and challenge themselves to meet their academic and personal goals. I have experience of tutoring to GCSE level and have references available upon request. I have tutored both male and female students, ranging from 9-17, in my own home, in school, and in the tutee’s home and am flexible regarding these arrangements. I have supported students with IGCSE Language and Literature Coursework, including the oral component of the Language examination. I have also worked with Year 6, 7 and 8 students with language proficiency, spelling, grammar, preparation for the GL examinations and other areas of the curriculum.
