Experience:

I absolutely love teaching and helping children to love learning. I am a Primary trained teacher, teaching children the English National Curriculum from age 7 -11. Alongside teaching my class, I am a lead teacher too, sharing my experience to develop other colleagues. I have been tutoring children in English and Mathematics for 5 years. Furthermore, I am an experienced exams tutor and have helped prepare children for their Year 6 SATs, PTs, CATs and entrance exams for a variety of secondary schools.

Approach:

I am a fun and friendly tutor and I enjoy working with children on a small group and 1:1 level as I feel this really allows for personalized learning to take place to excel a child's progress. Each and every session will be planned based on the needs of the child/children that I am tutoring. Before beginning a set of tutoring sessions, I will carry out a short assessment on the child/children to ensure that the areas that I plan to cover in the proceeding sessions will help the student/s master any areas of need. My tutoring sessions involve practical equipment and games, as well as written work and test technique where needed - again, session content and delivery is personalized to the way in which the child/children enjoys learning and learns best.
