I currently hold 12 years of teaching experience across the United Kingdom and UAE, teaching a range of subjects across FS, KS1 and KS2. I am experienced in teaching from the British Curriuculum and would consider myself a patient and supportive tutor, who strives to ensure children meet their full potential and are consistently challenged throughout. Each child learns in their own unique way and this is something that needs to be identified and planned for from the first session to ensure success. 

Approach:

I aim to plan fun, engaging and challenging learning opportunities, where students are able to learn the skill and consolidate their learning in a real life context to ensure skills are embedded. When meeting a student for the first time I find it important to assess both their strengths and areas that need to be developed further. From this, I can plan an individual program that will meet the needs of each individual student and ensure they rapidly progress. I have experience of working with children with special educational needs and feel confident with supporting children who may have some additional needs. I do not believe worksheets alone help children learn so I would aim to keep each session active, engaging and fast paced. Regular updates on progress can be sent to parents and additional home learning activites can be set upon request.
