Aileen Mc Gowan

Geography Specialist

Qualification:

BSc Geography

Experience:

Geography and History teacher of 5 years in London. Examination Officer for 4 years with detailed knowledge of requirements for exam style questions. As a teacher I have year after year had a high percentage pass rate for Geography with the most recent being 100% of my students passing Geography with A*-C at GCSE.I have 4 years tutoring experience in the UK with all of my clients passing with at least 1 grade higher than their predicted grade at school, in many cases 2 grades higher.

Approach:

Lessons as planned after a first meet with the student. I need to first assess the preferred learning style of the student whether it be visual, kinesthetic or aural and move forward from there. A range of different activities are included within lessons with a wider knowledge gained from video clips, website reading and links with curriculum sites and past papers. Lessons can be adjusted accordingly to the students needs, whether this be specific types of questions or topics that need to be covered in more detail.
