Experience:

I have five years of tutoring experience. I have tutored history, and Irish to students of all ages and abilities. I am a fully qualified history teacher. I was awarded a 1.1 in my teaching practice module. I have been inspected on a number of occasions and have always gotten good feedback. I believe my greatest strength is my organisation skill, I always try to be prepared and well briefed for all aspects of my job. I am passionate about teaching history, and aim to be approachable.

Approach:

I plan my lessons with the needs of the individual student in mind. I try to use a range of teaching methodologies and resources so as to keep the student engaged and interested. I always try to have a hook in my lesson, and make a real-world link where possible. I use a range of tutoring techniques including mind-maps, mnemonic devices, visual learning, graphic organizers and chronologies.
