Bachelor of Science in Biology, Master's Degree in Biology, Doctoral student in Science and Mathematics education program.

Experience:

I have worked as a Science and Maths tutor. Volunteer teachers aid in STEM Class. High School Biology, Earth Science, Physical Science and Environmental Science teacher in Louisiana. Worked in curriculum development and as an instructional specialist.

Approach:

I have worked as a formal educator since October 2012 where I was a strong content teacher in science, as well as curriculum developer for my former district. I typically encourage the student to think and work their way through content rather than give answers. When working in math and science I like to break down the information and create a real life application of the information so as to put the information in relatable terms. I also encourage using various concept maps that help compartmentalize the information so that it is more attainable.
