Experience:

I specialise in teaching the student to think in other terms when faced with numerical problems. In the past I was the team leader of the Zimbabwe Mathematical Olympiad and also trained my students for the International Mathematics Olympiad. My speciality is high school pure mathematics. I have taught Advanced Level Mathematics for 4 years at a Cambridge IGCSE school. Lastly I hold a Honors Degree in Actuarial Science and nearly completing a Masters in Financial Engineering.

Approach:

I let the student open their mind and explore the problem on their own at fist glance. I do not spoon feed students nor do I make them memorise a bunch of formulae. Instead I make the learning process more real and beneficial to the student. I give them more control of the learning process while I carefully guide and monitor their approach. I give my students problems of varying difficulty and the revise the work with them to show them the appropriate techniques to solve problems so that they are better approaching examinations and general life problems. My casual approach allows students to be independent while improving their logical reasoning. I help students to develop useful and sophisticated problem solving skills to prepare them for the demands of the ever changing world in both their daily life and academic endeavors. My approach is the problem solving technique where I first give the student a chance to attack a problem using their existing knowledge and skill. Upon follow up after the student attempts, I highlight how better they should attempt similar problems.
