Experience:

I am a Primary School teacher from Ireland who has worked in the UK for many years. I have mainly been working with children in the early years including FS2, Year 1 and 2 fit the last number of years but I have experience with all age groups from children aged 3 to 12.  I like to have all of my lessons fun and engaging for the children I teach. All of my activities are active for the children which means they are enjoying the learning they are doing. I use lots of rewards to motivate the children when they are learning which the children really enjoy.

Approach:

When planning lessons I always think of the children's interests and how the children like to learn. I always ask the children what they enjoy doing so I can take this into consideration when planning. I usually plan my lessons with a group of teachers where we all give ideas and opinions. From that I then think of the children in my class and what activities would suit their needs. In each lesson I try to include as many different techniques as possible including visual pictures, ICT and to try and include real life examples to make it realistic for the child. I try to have all my activities enjoyable that the child is enjoying the learning. I also incorporate partner and group work so that the child can share their opinion with others.
