Experience:

• Teaching Business Studies, Business & LCVP from 1st year to 6th year inclusive on a 22 hour contract. In addition, I also taught Adults as a part of their Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (previously known as Fetac). Also teaching in the UAE, in Abu Dhabi teaching Business and maths, can help with homework or revision.

Approach:

What do I want to achieve as a teacher? Simple, I want to be the best I can possibly be for my students. I want to motivate them, inspire them, bring the best out of them, create independent critical thinkers, be a role model to them, ensure they reach their maximum potential at a minimum and I want to this in a classroom that is filled with energy, mutual respect and possibly even a hint of love. Of course I realise that my ambitions might predominantly end in failure. This, however, will be no barrier to my ambition. Education is what Euripides would call the 'aspletos pithos’, an un-fillable task. I will never cease trying to do the impossible. To date, I have just finished teaching Business & LCVP on a maternity contract in Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai, Bantry, West Cork, Ireland . I have gained invaluable teaching experience as I have taught in this school over the last two years. In addition to teaching every year, I also have experience teaching Adults and Transition Years modules from the ECDL computer course. From this, I am also fully trained in VS-ware for taking down attendance. Finally, I am fully recognised by the Teaching Council as I have completed 300 hours and 10 workshops. In addition to this, I have also completed a Continuous Professional Development course on the new Business Studies course which will be implemented this coming September.
